Los Olivos was designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior and opened in 1984, with a refurbishment in 2001. Slightly smaller than the other course at Mijas Golf, Los Olivos is most notable for the multitude of trees which its name comes. With fewer water features, the 18 hole course is nevertheless very challenging. The greens are smaller, undulating and well defended by bunkers, and the strategic narrow tree lined fairways and elevated green demand accuracy and skill. Los Olivos is a course best suited for players gifted with a higher technical ability and precision in their game.
As with the other course at Mijas Golf, first rate facilities are available for golfers, including a practice area, buggy & trolley hire, bar-cafe and restaurant, plus places to buy water and other drinks as well as toilets throughout the grounds. Mijas Golf also offers the opportunity to take part in golf technique classes.
