The 18 hole course, designed by the legendary American architect Robert Trent Jones Snr, is spread over 52 hectares and 6,367 metres long, with wide fairways and soft slopes, ideal for amateurs, but at the same time presenting a challenge for the best players. The course is lined with trees of all varieties and has plenty of bunkers, but the nine lakes from which the course derives its name are the most memorable feature, turning the water into natural obstacles in 11 of the 18 holes.
